thanks for the tip. It will probably be awhile, I want to see what the open cone does for me, and I want to possibly design a performance resonator. I might be able to do it after looking at the stock airbox.

Rubber clamps should not melt. Hmm, thats kind of odd that all three of them started to come loose. You are using the metal clamps that screw on, right? About the noise, when I had a generic auto zone cone filter on the noise was louder and lasted longer until i got my K&N, then it seemed to tone down a little bit faster.

i have the screw clamps. The coupler had a groove that one of the clamps wasnt in, so i moved it. I'll drive it tomorrow and tighten them. If they keep getting looser ill have to think of something. The bad thing is I have a K&N on there now.

mmmm...took it up to the yellow today passing and from a 5mph roll. I LOVE the sound!

Unless you have a aftermarket muffler, then it drains it out..
