I saw 1-2 mpg increase. Mostly for HWY driving. Problem was after I got the intake on my foot got heavier for a while. Shortly after my foot finally lightened up a bit I got the INTENSE PCM and smaller pulley. Instant foot weight gainer!

well i can't say i've noticed anyhting noteworthy, but maybe a 1 or 2 MPG increase on hwy. but the increased responce while on the highway was enought to make it worth it for me. although i'm addicted to the whine so my foot is usully into it...

as i stated earlier.. i working on aluminum shield.. this is prototype of course.. the real thing will be well insulated and made of heavier gauge aluminum- it is formed to fit like a glove and i am hoping to it will function.. and look way better than the one i posted a pic of earlier

finally welded and trew this bad boy on.. it seems to be working great!! and looks pretty good too..
the inside walls of the metal box feel cool after about forty minutes of driving in 80 degree weather so i would say it shields well enough

i don't have pics yet but i'm having a plexi shield made for me. if i get it done and installed soon enought to be relevent to this topic i'll post pics. but to answer a little bit of your question about fiberglass... the glass itself woudld be fine, and the resin you'd use probilby would be as well. the plastic that we use has fiberglass in it and the resin won't burn off untill temps reach about 600* F and the glass doesn't change at all (we go up to 1200* F) so i'd have to assume that if you where able to construct a fiberglass shield that it would withstand the engine temps just fine.
