I have tools but no experience on cars, I repair helicopters and I would probally pay to have this done if it is under $5000. I am in Alabama. My SE is a 2005 not a 2004, I fat fingered. I was weighing the cost of trading in on a GXP or getting the swap done.

You can do even less with a GXP than you can your SE. Try a trade on an SSEi instead.

I agree. I love the GXP look, but if you are looking to have the most fun out of it then go with the SSEi or swap it.

The SSEI sounds good, I'm just not a fan of the fog lights on that model, would a 2005 front bumper fit?

I've done a lot of work on cars, assembled and swapped motors etc. But no way would I bother with this swap. There is always someone who can do something like this in one day, but I'm not one of those people; somehow there are more delays and additional expenses than expected.

I believe in the end you'll have a car that won't be worth any more after the swap, because many buyers will be leery of a non-stock engine swap. Also, you'd need to check and make sure you won't have problems with the smog police in your area, since there were no 2005 L67s.

I think you'll see GXPs going quicker in the next few years, but it'* unlikely that they will ever get into the 13s without NOS or a high dollar turbo/blower + aftermarket engine management. But they are really nice cars.

So if you can live with the styling and want to go fast for a reasonable price, the SSEi makes sense. You'll save a few bucks on gas over the GXP as well.
