based on hearing THESE IN PERSON
a magnaflow on a 94 SLE,
a magnaflow on 95 ssei with 3 inch tubing, no cat, no resonator
a dynomax on 94 SSE with gutted cat (and i believe the stock resonator)

my flowmaster on 94 SLE with stock cat and resonator
I STILL LIKE MINE THE BEST FOR SMOOTH EVEN TONE

like has been said many times.......sound is personal preference......personally......magnaflows are raspy in my opinion..and thats not what i'm going for.

PERFORMANCE....even though the flowmaster obviously flows better than my old stock muffler, but my car is no where fast and isn't going to be with 181K on the clock.....and just an intake up front......flow is better.....gas mileage probably was affected.

magnaflow may provide bigger HP gains...but i really don't care. i went for sound.

either way a high flow or performance muffler is added performance.

SOUND.....i'd still vouch for flowmaster

I THINK THIS DEBATE IS OVERKILL JUST LIKE TURTLE ON THE DYNO is......put what you want on your car...and shut up....

You may get pulled over for no cat..not for having an aftermarket muffler.

Popping happens no matter what muffler you have on our setup if there is no resonator. F-Body'* get the same problem. The pipe before the muffler is to long. The fix it the same way with a small resonator or they go true duals.
i disagree listen to zzzeke'* bonnie his doesnt pop at all like others do
GameOver i also have to disagree. I have a flowmaster 80 series and running everything just like zzzzzzeke and my muffler sounds just like his.i don't think that you will get popin with every aftermarket muffler. With the flowmaster i gained a lot of interior noise but all in all a nice tuned sound from the back. if your looking for a nice lowend rumble then the flowmaster is what your looking for.
Totally agree! My 80 series, sounds awesome at idle, low interior noise, get'* jiggy in wot. I love it, turn'* alot of heads too!
