Default I want to get quicker, not faster 97 bonneville needs pickup

As you can see from my signature I have weight in the trunk. I had a crown vic police package with mods and the fastest I have ever been 137. Thats fast enough for me, you start runin up on cars and people think you are the police they start becoming unpredictable. My stock 97 bonneville is a 40th anniversary ed. that should tell you the manufacture date is. It is only a SE. I have a brand new 3800 series II block in there. The governor kicks in at about 105 -107 mph. I want more pickup at WOT money is an issue. My goal is to give Vics and non LT1 caprices a run for their money stop light to stop light. Being that this is a front wheel drive car a gear swap is out of the question. Any help is appreciated.

Ok Kip. Most start with the big three.

#1 is a 180° Thermostat and Tranny cooler. You can do both for under $50. They'll cool your block, tranny, and intake for better efficiency and power, not much, but some, but they'll mainly protect your investment since you'll be running her harder.

#2 is an ADTR intake. Email [email protected] I think he still has some Series 2 intakes available from the last production run. They're in powdercoat right now.

#3 is your exhaust. Don't open up the pipe diameter, just remove the resonator, and replace the cat and muffler with higher flowing models. You're after light to light racing, so you need to protect your low-end torque. Losing backpressure would kill you, and a 3" pipe would do just that.

After the big 3, you can move into the expensive stuff like chips, heads/intake manifold, ported exhaust manifolds/headers, etc. But just the big 3 might surprise you.....and your quarry.

Hector! Get your fuzzy dice over here!

I think I found another ADTR Exhaust transplant recipient for you!
