the intense website said that the intake is for l67 and l36 engines. does the 2001 SE have either of those two engines in it?

Yes Brian. You have the L36 normally aspirated 3800 engine. It should work fine with yours.

how much of a horsepower boost should I get from adding this CAI? Does anyone have an exhaust they can recommend as well?

Adding a CAI doesnt really add HP, you might free up 2-3hp, but thats it... what adding a CAI does is make it possible to start adding on more mods to ADD HP.


as for recommeded exhaust, I prefure a high flow Cat and Fbody muffler from MagnaFlow

Sorry Peter, I can't agree with you on that one.

Brian you should be able to see about 10 hp gain.
Where you wouldn't see a hp gain is if you were drawing your air from the warm engine compartment but seeing as the Intense draws from the cool fenderwell you will see gains from both the lower restriction and the cool air.

i did mine myself whit a kn 4750 and a use 3 inches pipe for a honda and some sheilding it did a big difference because my stock one was the worst of all whit 2 90degrees in it
