Performance, Brainstorming & Tuning Talk about modifications, or anything else associated with performance enhancements. Have a new idea for performance/reliability? Post it here. No idea is stupid! (please use Detailing and Appearance for cosmetic ideas)

I finally did it.

thinner air produces a lean condition

All i'm looking for is a staight forward answer. I know I will get most of them when I scan but I'm also looking for the obvious and to me it would seem like less KR at high alttude with cooler temps. That is also why we need less octane at high altitude correct?

oh not this again. You can buy 85 octane like over in idaho and there has to be a reason for it, cars DO NOT knock with 85 here where they might at sea level.

ok well I got my 2.2 pulley installed today. The car runs awesome. My only question is how much KR should I get at full throttle 1-2 shift. I'm getting 19degrees and then after it shifts it goes right back to 0. Is this normal. After it gets into high gear and I floor it it stays at 0-1 degree of KR. BTW i'm running 91 octane gas the highest I can get currently.

Go back to a larger pulley. 19* is waaaay too much. You should only see a few degrees on a hot day.

You really shouldn't have any KR. Stock should have 0*.

KR is BAD. You shouldn't have even 5°. Get it off there until you know what'* causing it. You BETTER be running 91 octane at a BARE MINIMUM. Hans is seriously misinformed on his octane.

Do NOT run anything less than 91 octane in an L67 EVER.

In addition, higher altitude has THINNER air, but this does NOT cause a lean or rich condition. Your air/fuel ratio is the same as mine. The PCM controls it based on the MAF and O2 inputs.

You just have LESS air, so it delivers LESS fuel.
