This is the same reason why you can swap between two PCMs on your car and not need a case learn. If it has learned it once it doesn't need to learn it again, because it uses other values to figure out where it is or something like that. I'm not sure how it works, but I know it works. If you put your old KS unit it will be fine and you won't need a case learn. But, I guess since you have access to a Tech 2 its no big deal.

So I can!! I'm gonna contact Intense too just to verify. I trust everyone'* advice, I just want to confirm it from the source. I'd rather get this ordeal settled now, then wait 2 weeks to go home and get the case learn.

Well, it'* swapped. I drove it around a bit. Things seem to be going well. The idle is just a tad high, but it has gone down after driving a lot.

I'm glad this problem is solved.

Thanks for the help everyone.

Glad you got it worked out Sol sorry I missed most of this post (damn Jury Duty).

1) INTENSE has sold close to a thousand PCMs and I would guess that a few that blew motors may have had other issues (I know a few 04 ppl had upgraded injectors and failed to inform Scott)

2) DHP has had there share of blown engine problems due to timing issues (I know one club member who had 3 engines blown due to the same DHP PCM).

3) Anytime you mod your car you run the risk of blowing something even with proven parts, Caveat Emptor.

4) A CASE is required on all cars (except 97 where the KS module can be switched) if the PCM is physically replaced (it can be flashed in the car without the need for a CASE).

Yea, I contacted Intense, and Scott told me I could just swap the ks modules. I didn't know you could change them after starting the car with the improper one.

So all the timing problems I ran into weren't due to the KS module being improperly switched? Wow. So the actual problem was probably something like the junkyard sold me the wrong PCM. Well, either way, I got the PCM flashed and the proper KS module is in there now. Thanks for researching all this and setting me straight. Can't wait for my Intense unit to come!
