yea finaly we got some nice warm day here and it a easy 1 hour job and the fit is perfect on a GM upper (it wont fit on a dorman upper whitout some grinding and fitting )

It replaces the upper intake insert, basically reducing the runner length. Shorter runners tend to produce more power at higher RPM, but you also lose a little of the low end grunt. I think the latest insert from ZZP(the HV3) addressed the lost torque with slightly longer runner length.

Sorry to drag an old post back to life, but I was curious how the HV3 worked for your driveability?

I recently installed an HV3 and stage 1 throttle body from ZZP... and now my cold idle is suffering. Did you see any of this from the HV3?

I'll let Don speak for his experience with the HV3, being that his is not the normal experience. But the idling etc issues you are having is most likely because of the pcm needing to be tuned. Frequently we change things and expect that the liberal pcm GM gave us will adapt. As we get toward the outter extremes or out of it'* normal ranges the car will act and idle differently.

In putting the cam etc on my rig, I found that a tune including VE, maf etc works wonders.
