WOW......u called this one

doing a high speed run today... couldnt get more than 125 out of it... was confused... let off the gas... at about 70mph, i could hear a deep rumble...

pulled off the road, popped the hood......headers were SUPER glowing red...haha.. anywho... looked at the cat also, it was basically on fire... entire thing was boiling red... and there was smoke coming out of it...

yup, it got so hot it blew a hole in the top of it...

i tried to take a pic, but since its on top, i cant...

sounds like H*** now, and a new high flow cat is being overnighted as i speak...
Ummmm....your cat didn't limit your speed. The PCM did. I'll grant you that your Cat is probably getting bad, but even with my new exhaust, I can get the exhaust manifolds to glow. You have a PCM speed limiter set at 128, and it varies slightly by car.

I don't any more.

my cat was also blown out on the side. Think I'm only getting like 20ish for mpg. But I tend to keep my foot on the SC. New O2 sensor...hmmm what did that moron at muffler palace put in? Probably Bosch.

Andrew...man that'* beautiful. Can you do some more high speed and show us a nighttime glowing pic? lol

My car was so plugged with the bad cat. After I did it, I thought...why did I wait a full week?

what'* wrong with bosch none of the parts stores around here carry ac delco and they either want $60 to ship 1 in or they don't sell ac delco. $20 for a bosch and they carry those all day every day.

Andrew - I was talking about the moron at my local muffy shop. I had him put one in and didn't look at the brand...cause I'm a fillpin moron.

Xtrme most members here have had problems either with reliability or performance once installing bosch. For some reason either anything bosch doesn't hold up or the car doesn't run right once you install it.

Best practice is use gmpartsdirect.com and have it shipped to you.

well since im fixen to sell teh car im not to worried about the performance its got 3 month warranty on it. i had a dude offer me 1300 for the car. the car im lookn at cost 1000 im fixen to get a pay check and so i'll have enough to either buy the car and a set of new heads or buy the car and have it shipped.
