Default high grade fuel w/ Intense PCM for L36

Got a question for you L36 guys with an aftermarket PCM. What grade of fuel do you use? I'm curious if I have a knock problem from putting 87 in my car...

Can we get a little more background? What makes you think you might have knock? Any actual numbers?

Why upgrade your car if you're not willing to put higher octane fuel in? The Intense PCM advances timing, 3 degrees if I remember, and some guys fight knock bone stock. Chances are, yeah, you're fighting knock. Only way to know is scan.

I don't actually KNOW I have a knock problem... I was just curious what people used. I'm gonna put 93 in there for now on

I've talked to Todd personally and asked him what octane I should run, he said 87 is perfectly fine and it'* what I've been running since I got the PCM back in August.

I tune mine personally, and i ALWAYS run 93 octane,(95 when available) in the '96.

87 should be OK, but if you are in doubt, switch to 89. 93 really shouldn't be neccessary unless you're having a tuning issue.
If you think you're getting knock, though, a scan would probably be a good idea.
