In the GTP we have removed the Lining on the top of hood so the hood would close with the IC, but it helps keep heat down too. 1 thing that really helps keep heat down is the heat extractors on the hood of the GTP, while sitting at intersections you can see the heat pouring out. We have ceramic coated headers, a heat shield directly under the throttle body to keep heat from the crossover from heating up the throttle body. We run a drilled 160 thermostat. We also have a Thrasher Cold Air Intake that is completely insulated from the engine bay, and the intake duct is insulated. Intake air temperatures are never higher than 6 degrees warmer than outdoor ambient temps, and they are usually within 3 degrees of outside temps.

Just a thought, wouldn't a ram air hood help cool down the engine?
If it also had heat extractors it would.

Hey Mistah Rat, does that intake I see in the second link incorperate everything (filter, heat reflecting coating, bent pipe, clamps, etc.) :?:

Oh, kosho I like your idea bout removing the hood insulating. let me get this strait it isn't bad for the car or anything and actually helps a bit :?:
