Sure..anything can work if you put enough re-engineering into it. The Getrag will mate up to the 3800...there'* enough Fiero owners around to prove that. But there'* a lot of little problems to be solved. Flywheels and clutches, mounts, cables, etc, etc...the list goes on. Most of the hurdles can be whipped by looking at other cars that came stock with the Getrag and blending parts.

I'm dying to see how he gets by them.

Thanks for the support. There is still a lot of research to do on this before I start taking things apart. It just happens that I finally found one in the junkyard that was good, so I figured I'd get it while I could. Not sure if anyone has looked for these, but they are hard to come by.

Currently i have:

transmission, axles, shift assemble, and shift cables from the 92 Lumina.

Shift assembly, clutch pedal, clutch switch, clutch cylinder and shift cables from a 91 Achieva SCX

Spare 93 L67 (spun bearing) to use for mocking up.

And next weekend I will probably be getting the clutch master cylinder and other lines from the Lumina, and possibly some more parts from a 89 Cutlass Supreme International with the 2.8L and 5 spd.

I am also looking for a parts car close to me with a good cradle, motor mounts, axles, and other small parts to use for mocking this up. If anyone has some old axles that are complete they would like to get rid of for free, I'd be interested, depedning on shipping costs.

I am planning right now for this project to take most of the summer. If i can get a parts car, then I'll be driving the bonneville this summer, but if not I will probably take it off the road so I can use it for testing. I have a friend who welds who said he'd help me mock stuff up and create prototypes for some of the mounts and stuff (will be having a real shop do the actual ones for piece of mind) I am looking at right now getting a service manual for a 92 Lumina for reference.

It should be a 284, my 282 says 282 on the tag where that one says 284.
