Hardcore Engine Work
Working on a list of things I can do for my car this spring. It'* not bolt on crap either, i'm digging.
Here'* what i'd like to start working with at this point.
Heads.
Major P&P, Higher ratio rockers
What'* the stock 93 rocker ratio? Anyone have a spare Series II rocker I can borrow for the series I crowd?
Exhaust manifolds
I'm gonna try to Port as much as possible, i know there isn't much, but i can try i guess. Probably paint as well.
Intake Manifolds
Lower - hope to port some, but again, i know there isn't TOO much I can do.
Upper - Man nothing at all I can really do with this. I guess i can always try.
Throttle Body I'll try to do something with this as well, smooth it out a lot, and make the action very smooth.
Basically anything I can modify to the stock L27 chassis... I see Comp cams has 3 cams from mild to wild for 231 buick V6'* 87-96.... Will that work in mine? If a cam works, i'll do one over rockers....
I plan to be running an aftermarket Chip too when this goes in.

Don't get me wrong...I love my bonneville. But don't you think that some of you are ready for the next step? Maybe a real sports car, something that'd be fun to play with and take apart and put back together and modify, like a 80'* trans am for instance? Maybe a new camaro with high miles? I just can't see how you can justify doing all of that to a bonnie.
And don't get me wrong, I do really, really love my car.

Oh i love sports cars and the like more then anything. I don't like auto'* or fwds, but being in college, and stuff the bonnie is the perfect car.
I'll be doing this work all on my own as well. I know quite a few Automotive engineering majors, shops, so it'* really just the minimal cost of the equipment i'll need, and the donor parts (not much).
In a few years i'll be buying a GTO, firebird, or some sort of fun car, but i'll always have this. If it blows, i'll just start restoring things earlier.
I'm a driver at hard, a manual RWD setup just isn't feasable in MN year round as a college student.

Edlebrock has one for a buick 231 CID v6, but it'* v6 even fire, for non computer controlled engines...

That'* a GN cam right?
Comp Cams has this... http://www.compcams.com/Technical/Ca...ML/110-113.asp Lil lower... 75-96.
I'd go for the middle version, more power, but still streetable.

I would start at the intake and work my way back, the cam is a big deal to do. You will end up replacing alot of stuff as you dig through the engine. Starting at the intake is probably the easiest as it is on the top. P&Ping the mainfolds is probably a good idea too. Maybe a larger downpipe after all is said and done?

I'm not doing the parts on my car. I'm modifying parts that aren't on the car, and doing it all at once. That first drive should be fun
I'll be replacing the upper, lower, TB, gaskets. If not some other things.

Intense/ZZP has some shortened upper intake runners, you might want to check them out. See about a P&P on the TB too. All-at-once is gonna be pretty crazy. Your PCM wont know what the hells goin on. Dont forget a CAI, or do you already have one?
