Default Gutting air box, questions

I am afraid to do this. I want to use some tubing and run it in the front, where would be a good place? I have looked at all of the form info and it seems a little weak on directions. Could someone elaborate on how they did theirs?

Id like for it not to be to loud. Also, does gutting this cause any problems with rain? And should I go with a differnt filter set up? Like two of them or different location?

first, you post your topic at wrong place,(i think)

2nd, no, the rain will not get in if you gut your air box.

3rd, you can make your intake tubing go where you want, but want it as far as you can from heat, mine go drectly in bumper, but you have a 97, not sure if you can. You can make an heatshield to protect filter from heat, just look at pic in the sig of willren.

the Intense kits go down into the fender...i think you have to remove part of the wheel well to get it in though...I wouldn't think 2 filters would be a good idea..it would probably make the gutting of the airbox useless since it would have to suck through both of them....someone mentioned that they just cut a larger hole in the front of the air box..which is probably what I am gonna do when I gut mine tomorrow: )
