Default Gutted air box?

you cannot gut the airbox on the Series One motors, like the one you have in your car

the airbox mod only applies to the Series 2

Moved to Performance and Brainstorming.

Let'* clarify......there is no NEED to gut the airbox on a Series 1. You can PORT it out by adding holes to the front face, and drop in a K&N filter.

The Series 1 box is not as baffled and restrictive as the Series 2.

And to add my Series one experience.

While the series 1 doesn't have baffles etc, it does have a rather small inlet at the front and is not using the full filtering material. In this respect it is similiar to the Series 2 and no matter which one you have...there are gains to be had.

Link us to it before buying any aftermarket intake. Most are garbage. Including the fake filters.
