Default The great CAI

Just wondering how you bonnieville guys build your cold air intakes for your 1994 Models with the 3800 non supercharged engine. I drive a 3.8 v6 Taurus and I figured I could pick up a few ideas from here. Also if you do like have info, pics would be wonderful. Thanx, T

Maybe start with gutting the stock intake box and seeing the potential...doesnt the SHO have a CAI aftermarket kit? Does it bolt up to the 3.8?

The SHO does not have a kit, and Gutting the box our club has never done that sort of thing some ppl have run dryer duck to a cone filter but that seems too cheap and I wanted more Ideas. And also aftermarket parts for our cars are extremely rare so we have to make most of our parts.

Not a true CAI yet, but almost there, all I need is a heatshield. It would help if you put a photo of your engine bay up here so we can see what your talking about. I use to own a 92 Taurus but can barely remember how it looked like.

Very first day I installed it..

Installed a custom raim air affect to both sides of the engine bay.

willwren- I clicked on your sig which went to your website. And on your top paragraph it states that The bonnieville was the only front wheel drive V6 to break the 200 hp barrier. Sorry thats wrong Ford Taurus SHO pumps out 220 Auto and 230 Manual without having to be supercharged.
Sry to b an *** but I dont like when ppl make false claims about their cars, we get way too much of that on our forums.
