Supercharger Oil Change Connundrum
So I changed my supercharger oil today. I used a meat injector syringe and a 1/8" vinyl fuel line for a lawn mower to suck out all the old oil. Man that stuff stinks.
Anyways, I noticed my supercharger took both bottles of new oil, minus a little tiny bit that spilled out when I turned the bottle upside down. I thought it was only supposed to take a bottle and 3/4 or something like that? I didn't see it come up to the bottom of the threads. Is this typical? Am I going to see any problems out of this? I haven't driven it yet, but I did start it and didn't notice anything spraying out anywhere or any strange noises.
Also, should the supercharger oil plug have an O-ring on it? Before I did the change, I've noticed a little oil weeping out around the plug. I bought an O-ring set from Autozone thinking maybe the old one had gone bad, but when I removed the plug, there was not one on there.

Normally, the supercharger will take (2) 4 oz bottles of GM synthetic supercharger oil. That stuff is expensive. So, yes, it will take both bottles. And yes, it does stink.
Another member here, (Danthurs) has converted to using Mobile 1 5w-30(i think) synthetic oil. He uses it in the engine and supercharger. GM has issued a letter saying its ok to use this oil.
So, here'* what you can do, and Dan does it also. Buy the big 5+ quart jug of Mobile 1 synthetic 5w-30 and filter. Do your oil change like normal, and with the remainder half quart or so of new oil, use that in the supercharger. See what I mean?

Yep, that'* what I use. About 8oz is what it takes. If the front of the car is up on ramps, it will take more, if it'* pointing down hill, it will take less. So have it level. Then fill until you see the oil just starting to touch the threads. A bit low or high wont be a problem.

ok cool. I never seen it come up to the bottom of the threads. The car was on a slight grade, maybe 3-5% with the front higher than the rear. I am still noticing some slight weeping around the plug though, even though it'* snug. Does your plug have an o-ring on it? I got a multipack from the help section at autozone, a bunch of little brown ones. There'* one or two thatlook like they might fit, but I don't want to put one on there if it'* not supposed to have one.

I don't even recall mine having one either.
