Default Grand Prix 5.3L in Bonneville?

Has anyone tried to swap a Grand Prix 5.3L into a Bonneville?

Can't say I have heard or seen one on here. But, I think I seen someone here put a Northstar in. But, they also had to put in the 4T80-E transmission in also. Alot of custom work was needed. I'm gonna go run off and try and find that thread....

Default LS4/5.3L into Bonneville

LS4/5.3L into Bonneville

the 4.6 Northstar engine uses the 4T80 Transmission,
so swapping the Northstar engine, requires an Engine and Trans change.

an advantage of the LS4/5.3L
is the Transmission is the same type or same model = 4T65.

If you use a LS4/5.3L from a chevy Impala,
the Tranny is probably the same, as the trans that is behind the 3800,
that comes stock in the Bonneville.

If you use the LS4/5.3L engine and 4T65 trans from a Grand Prix,
you get the Tap Shift feature.

other than the complete Engine,
Wiring Harness from engine side,
Wiring Harness from passenger compartment side,
and Engine computer,
what else would be needed, to do this Swap?

What years are the engine Computer,
compatible with the trans Computer?

not much aftermarket support for those engines. gm had to shorten the blocks to fit properly in the car. that is what i have read about them.
