Default got a question on a CAI

if i got the rice pipe from autozone, couldnt i just rap the pipe in a heat reflecting material, and build a small box around the k&n filter wrapped in heat reflecting material? seems like that would be easier than building a whole box around the pipe and filter out of heat material. i dont know much about this type of stuff, so i i'll leave it to yall to tell me if this is a good idea or not.

That should work just fine. A lot of ppl just don't like the look of the heat wrap is all.

i might try my idea. it would be alot easier than a box IMO, especially if you need to change back to the stock air box for a little while.

Wait who has built a box around the whole pipe and filter? Ive only seen it on the filter and maybe an inch or two of pipe.

Thats mine. The filter is farther back than what it should be, and I wanted the IAT sensor inside the box so it doesnt get hot. With the IAT inside the box its also easier to wrap.

I used several layers of Reflectix, so it was a little tough to bend so I made the box bigger. Feel free to do whatever you want, and experiment to see what gives you the best results. If you have any questions about that setup feel free to IM me. I also have some Reflectix and aluminum tape left over if you need some.
