just a quicky question...when you put your exhaust system back together after header install...does where you live require a cat on your car?...or can you get away without one ...or is your cat part of the ECM mangerment profile.........i found no cat better flow from mine /better sound /and better performance

Not all States have emissions testing, so techincally you could get away with not having a cat, or using say a hi-flo cat that doesn not do as well a job as a real cat. i have a hi-flo cat with an 02 spoofer (to tell the car the cat is working properly).

If you don't have emissions, cops can still check for one, and slap you witha HEAVY (like 10k) fine.

Good plans taylor, maybe you could have the stereo shop rebuild the box that weekend, so you got less junk in the trunk

Cook County and the 6 collar counties around Chicago have emissions testing.

No emissions testing here in florida either... But they can check for it if they want to.. And you can be fined... But at the same time I have never seen a cop check for a converter.... But I guess it just depends..
I've been running without the CAT for about 2 weeks now. With TOG headers it sounds great and the feel in the seat of my pants tells me it was the right decision.

No bad smells. No loud droning. No black exhaust pipe. In fact it'* hard to tell from inside the car, you really have to listen but the growl is definitely there.
Standing behind the car is where you can here it the best, that staccato sound of catless header power. Sweet.

If you **** off any Police officer, they will nail you for something. Kiss *** when ever possible.
