Really that was a general statement not specifically to a CAI or FWI, the fact was that we need to figure out ways we can make our cars quicker. Thats why there is an Anyways and a space between it

I'm going a bit off topic here...
I do feel that the 4.6 left something to be desired..
But lets look at things in another light.. The GXP Bonnevilles got a 3.71 Gear ratio... The 4.6 is not what I would call a low end torquer, and I believe the 3.71 helps get the car Moving... But at the same time I think the 3.71 May have been a bit on the side of overkill... I almost think a 3.29 or a 3.47 may have been better suited to the 4.6...
Back in the Day GM used the 2.97 in the 88 SSE... 89-91 You could have your choice of 2.79 or 3.33...
The funny thing is that just about any 88-91 2.84 LE will out run a 3.33 SSE every time....
Now even tho I do not see the 4.6 as a low end torquer like the 3800.... The 4.6 does have a bit down there that would be more than enough to overcome a slightly higher gear ratio.. Better gas mileage too..
Onto the Intake..... I do believe that GM designed the intake to be Silent.... How many people really want to hear a Car hissing like crazy on a cold morning( well I do, But thats beside the point )...
I do believe that there is room for you guys to play and get some gains... The gains may not be a lot, and may not even be enough to realize on a Dyno... But it may be worth a little if you want to try..
I also agree that it looks like the Convoluted Tube looks a little off kilter.... Looks like another good design by GM engineers... There must be a way to straighten that out to smooth the air flow.. I'm sure being that the 4.6 is a DOHC Smasher it loves to breathe when you stomp the hammer to the floor... I'd say let that sucker inhale everything it can get...
On another Note has anyone broken the Caddy coding on that N* PCM? It has to be held back somehow, we all know GM wouldn't let it have everything..

Ok I got an email from Scott and this is what he had to say....
Chris:
Sorry, but we don't offer any parts for the Bonneville GXP.
HP Tuners decided not to crack the PCM, and without PCM access we're pretty much dead in the water.
Depressing since the cars are so nice. :(
Sorry,
Scott
I guess in a nutshell someone has to crack the pcm for there to be any real improvements lol.

I think someone cracking the code is going to be the Key.... But it seems at the moment its a Puzzle no one wants to crack.... I'm sure there is power to be had in that PCM.. But we need a Magic key for it

And this comparison:
It would be nice to add the LD8 TB to that comparison. I kinda happen to have a charred one from a car fire here......I THINK it'* the same TB the GXP used.
