Functional Hood Scoop!

I had a chance to poke around under the hood tonight and take a look at the structural steel underneath. Looking at a closed hood, one thinks "...not too much to it.." but there is a lot going on underneath.
So... since I'm not Jessie James, I don't think the sunken scoops will be feasible without mucho fabrication. Back to square one.
I've also got some airbox ideas in my head and will try to get it on paper. Typically though, this is lost somewhere around the elbow and never comes out looking like what I'm thinking.

Don't despair. It took me a year of playing around to wind up with my current ram-air setup. It was worth it. I'm very pleased with it, even when it occasionally scrapes entering a parking lot.

What about a fender scoop right next to the headlight that leads into a custom made airbox? That would probably look a little better and you wouldnt have to worry about what not to cut as much as the hood.

You would have to do some structural cutting to get to the engine bay.
