Yea, but this is 85% we are talking here. You are talking about 10% which is miniscule.
Miniscule... yes. However, figure how many gallons of it have passed through the fuel system. For years, the 10% blend was cheaper than the lower octane gas.

And at the moment how many gas stations actually have E85?
Every one here. It is 104+ octane and my buddies say I should run it in my car cause I always complain about some of the premium pumps have only 91. Obviously its not possible.

E85 will give you less power and lower mileage. It will not save you money, even at 40 cents cheaper. Any modern car should be able to run it as long as you have enough fueling capacity to keep up. This would be a very bad thing if you have a modified car since your injectors would be closer to static trying to keep up.

Okay. I have no personal experience with E85. That said. Lower mileage. Yes. Less power? Not from the first 3 pages of google I looked at. E85 is netting about a 5% increase in power in the flex fuel vehicles. Using bench racing programs, I see the same results between gasoline and ethanol fuels.

Now I'm not certain what the duty cycle of stock injectors are on a stock 3800, but I'm willing to bet that if someone were to want to convert to E85 on a modified car, they would factor in the required flow increase and match injectors to it if they felt it was needed. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, or agree with me if I'm right.

All I know is that I'm looking forward to it coming to my town. I'll try to convert over.

Let us know how it goes. If I knew I could convert succesfully here I would. 104 octane at $2.12 a gallon sounds real good.
