Ok, just wondering. Maybe there are some members in your area that could help out too, just a thought.

Otherwise, the t-stat was my first project on my first Bonneville 4 years ago. Follow the directions step-by-step, and you'll do fine. The only tools you need are a ratchet with a 10mm socket, and a flat-head screwdriver for the bleeder screw. And a razor blade is helpful in getting the old gasket off the metal surfaces.

It should only take about 30 minutes tops if that. Took me less. And I can do it now in probably 5. But take your time, no need to rush.

The 180 t-stat will open up earlier than the 195 (which is what you have now), so it keeps your engine running cooler, which can keep it lasting longer. It'* a good starting point if you are planning on modifying your car more down the road.

Your temperature can still go above 200 in the summer if you sit in traffic, but that is normal. When driving and air is flowing though the radiator, the car will run cooler.

EDIT: Put your location in your profile so it shows up under your name on the left. Start a thread in "Introductions for new members" and see who is in your area.

Yes it can, if you don't drive it faster because of it (which is often the result ). It allows the engine to breathe better. Your stock intake is very restrictive compared to an intake like mine that I posted. If you drive normally you will probably see an increase in gas mileage of 2-3mpg. I did.

It increases horsepower at the same time, and some torque.

I'm not familiar with them at all. Advance Auto and Pepboys have intake pipes for Civics that can work. But you basically want to find a pipe that has a similar bend as this:

3" diameter is ideal. You don't want a pipe that is too short either.

Cone Filter - $55
Silicone reducer - $20
3 clamps - $8
Pipe - $40?

Add a bit for shipping if necessary.

I had a spare pipe in the garage that I was able to use. So mine cost me around $85 all together.
