Default Exhaust upgrade

Hey everybody,

I have a 2000 Bonneville SE with 106,000 miles on it. Runs pretty smooth and strong. IHowever, I want to do an exhaust upgrade. Im thinking of a SLP catback dual exhaust system. Will it work on a regular bonneville?

I'm guessing it is made for a Grand Prix? It won't fit, the bends are different, any exhaust piping needs to be custom bent unless you put a stock system in

Unless you really want to upgrade the intake, heads, valves, headers, and downpipe you aren't gaining anything by just putting a new exhaust on, the engine is a bottleneck on the airflow

I'm getting an SSEi exhaust to upgrade my SE in the spring. You pretty much have the options of the SSEi or GXP. The difference with the GXP is that after it splits at the "Y" pipe its 2.5" instead of 2.25" all the way back. Morad parts in Clevland has SSEi exhaust'* available but the only GXP was just taken by SawGunner.

I did the SSEi as well and had them take out the resonator, it wasn't for performance but it was a look and sound thing, I got the tips chromed so it looked nicer on the car

the biggest restriction in the factory exhaust system is the front manifold and that'* easily replaced with a ZZP power log, but until you do something to get more air into the motor, like rockers or a ZZP intake insert, you really wont benefit from the an exhaust upgrade as much as supercharger guys would.

Oh ok. Im currently looking for a donor SSEi so that I can do a engine, tranny and pcm swap. Im guessing that I would have better modification options if I go that route.

Most definitely, the L67 alone will be a good performance upgrade to begine with (DUH Because it has a supercharger on it). After you get the motor in there are quite a few "What to mod on my motor first" lists that can guide you down the path of making a fire breathing hell-spawn demon of a blower motor.

Could you explain how to add the fire breathing part to mine?
