If you do do this and get stopped....(this only works if you're in High School) tell them it'* finals weeknd and the exhaust just broke the other day and you just don't have the money until your work schedules back to normal.....Worked for me many times when I was in High School when I snapped the down pipe off the manifold flange on my old 4 cyl. toyota p/u lol.

lol i am in highschool so the excuse should work. anyway what about guys who run open headers I've seen done on countless cars including a buick gnx which also has the same 3.8 liter v6.

The 3.8 in those Buicks arn't the same engine. Its the old grandpa to these engines, but different specs. Running open headers is mental, just gets you in trouble on the streets. If you want horsepower (and it sounds like you do) do NOT cut off the exhaust.

if its the sound ur looking for get an exhaust cutout, otherwise u might look for a better muffler

GN'* and GNX'* are turbo'd cars, and doing that will relieve backpressure from the turbo. Thus allowing it to spool easier and create boost more efficiently, and earlier.

My car didn't sound too bad without a muffler, it still had a cat on, and 90% of the pipe. Way too loud for any car though. Find a used deal on a muffler if you're on a budget. I got mine 60 bux to my door, and it had been installed, used one day, and taken off.
