Default engine chatter after 3.4 pulley install

just installed a 3.4 sc pulley and am getting chatter on acceleration. is this due to the stock pcm? mods are cai, 180 stat, 104 autolites and 3.4 pulley. intense pcm is on the way along with hp tuner vcm program.

Would you say chatter or belt slipping?

I dont think its slipping. wouldn't that be more of a squeal? sounds like an engine with low octane gas i run 94.

Describe what your Tach and Boost gauges are doing when this occurs.

if you feel like the engine is losing power compared to stock its probably Knock retard,

mine do this the first 15 minute and then replace and now feel very good, be sure you are not sucking hot air with your intake.

If you have a short CAI i suggest a heat shield at least if its not already done, what i did is a Fender well intake and i have no problem since.

It can be also your belt like Willwren said. If you dont see the boost gauge go high.

With the 3.4 i go at the end of the "yellow part of the guage".

If you have normal boost , i will tell you what members here told me when i install mine , scan the car if you can, this way you will see " live" whats happening.

Good luck

ps.. you will like that extra boost.

Thats odd. Maybe you should torque you're tensioner or SC pully to make sure their snug.

I received my intense pcm and the problem seems to be less noticable. If i accelerate lightly around 30-40 i hear the knocking. If i press 3/4 down either I cant hear it because of the supercharger whine or it fixes itself. My boost goes up to the yellow also.
