No those electric supers are just a tiny electric blower motor like the one for your heater and they cannot flow enough to match your intake requirements. We had a customer buy one and kept wondering why his filter indicator kept saying replace his filter. It was actually choking the intake. As far as the performance chip stuff goes check out SUPERCHIPS Cortex Programmer they work on all GM cars and Trucks. I got a promotional one a couple of weeks ago and it offers a lot of different variables to be adjusted. It sure beats using a GM tech2 to adjust timing for NOS apps.

Correction:

MOST of the ebay superchargers are a restriction to the natural flow as you suggest.

SOME electric superchargers are actually eaton superchargers driven by an electric motor and a bunch of batteries.

Works, but not practical.

Sorry about that all of the ones I have seen have been restrictive including the Eaton ones. I tried one out on my Suburban and it couldn't keep up either.

If an Eaton based electric couldn't keep up, you either had too small of a SC, it wasn't spinning fast enough, or you had tuning issues. They do work, but aren't worth the cost, weight in batteries, or long-term maintenance costs.

At normal speeds it worked fine but if I got on the pedal a lot it would trip my filter indicator on my intake. I'm running an HT383E GM Performance engine. Tried to use the same one on my Bonny but had similar results a higher RPMs, but for those guys who don't mash the pedal every chance they get it would work. but still very unpractical.
