Easiest way to replace tq converter?

Any suggestions?
Is pulling the engine the only way?

I think it would be quicker to drop the tranny, either way its a big job. You should also plan to do the rear seal while you have it apart?

yup i agree on big job be surre to replace the front seal on the tranny and the rear seal on the engine the last thing you need is leaks

Do i have to drop the subframe to drop the transmission?
Anyone have instructions or a write up?

I think that it is easier to drop the subframe. When Rogue had his converter installed Intense pulled the engine. I think that dropping the trans is a better idea though

We pulled the engine because I had engine work to do on it (balance shaft, oil pan gasket etc..) so it was easier to work on it with the engine out. If no engine work was being done, dropping the tranny would have been easier and faster.

I'm in the process of doing this as we speak. My subframe is dropped already, and I am just about to tear into the torque converter parts next. It is not easy, but if you have the right tools, it is very doable.

What kind of tools are required other than normal hand tools and a cherry picker?
