Default direct replacement aftermarket muffler

are there any flowmasters that are direct fit for the stock '97 SE muffler location? which series will give me the best deep, powerful sound, or should i be looking at magnaflow or borla?

no disrespect will, but i don't believe that thread answers my question... people are talking about camaro mufflers and others that mount perpendicular to the rear axle... or did i misunderstand? my SE'* muffler is just ahead of the rear bumper, parallel to the rear axle, with center inlet and offset outlet, i don't think anyone in that thread was describing a muffler like that. i'll prolly go take measurements and see what i can find, but if anyone knows from memory and can just tell me, i'd appreciate it. apologies if i missed something

Please post your question under that topic. We're trying to keep all the exhaust stuff in one location, to be accumulated into a Techinfo article. SE exhaust is being discussed there alse, towards the end.

No disrespect? Nobody here respects me. Or if they do, it'* only for what I drive

We talk about camaro mufflers, cause they're the same fit, most have an outlet on each side though.

heres a good site i found to buy mufflers from http://www.fle-online.com/

find out what size tubing you have, most likely for you its 2.25inch...but you might have 2.5inch...check to be sure

then decide whether you want dual-outlets or not....the Camaro mufflers mentioned will give you that.

Magnaflow has a really good choice of Universal fit muffleres....if you have the 2.25 tubing the 5x8 mufflers offer a good selection of replacements.

if you have the 2.5 inch tubing, the 5x11 may be your better choice, that is of course if you even want a Magnaflow....Magnaflows appear to be quite alot cheaper(at least on that site anyway) and based on the article in the Exhaust thread they outperform Flowmaster anyway.
