Oh very good information, I'm kinda leaning towards ZZPerformance because it has all the things I like, it'll remove the speedlimiter etc, I haven't gotten the information from zzp'* website about its PCM yet but I was surprised that it'll remove the limiter.

The PCM that first ordered from ZZP was a DHP unit. Have they changed in the last couple of years?
I am running with an INTENSE unit now and am very happy.

Ahh, I found some add'l info.

INTENSE™ Standard PCM - $99.99
Ideal for stock to slightly modded cars with induction mods, exhaust mods, smaller supercharger pulley and/or rocker arms - features removal of all speed limiters, higher shift points (~6,000 RPM)** and rev limiter (6,200 RPM) , proprietary transaxle shift behavior adjustments** including 'skip shifts', air/fuel adjustments, knock retard decay rate adjustment, cooling fan control adjustments (180°), cooling fans on at key-off for 180 seconds, elimination of Abuse Mode, Differential Scoring Protection, Supercharger Torque Management, etc.

Question- what'* Abuse Mode? We have skip shifts? what'* differential scoring protection?

ZZperformance has

Speed limiter removed
Raised rev limiter
Raised shift points
3-1 and 4-2 skip shifts
Transmission line pressure increased
185F fan turn on
90 second fan on at key-off (this feature activates when engine coolant is 180 degrees or greater)
MAF calibration is year specific
WOT fueling richen to reduce KR
Removes lag by changing downshift tables
Correct VIN number programmed in
Part throttle KR issue fixed
Torque abuse modes are modified to eliminate bog at launch
Shift KR is remapped for modified vehicles
Power enrichment tables modified for cars running increased boost
P0128 code removed for running drilled or 160 Tstats on newer cars
Torque converter lockup tables modified to improve transmission life and eliminate ‘converter lockup hunting’

Okay zzperformance seems to have more details on what its PCM will do, but INTENSE is pretty assuring when it says the "standard PCM" is ideal for stock or mildly modded cars.

I couldn't find what DHP will do to the car, it won't give me any info.

what'* Abuse Mode? We have skip shifts? what'* differential scoring protection?
3-1 and 4-2 skip shifts

Abuse mode is a feature GM builds in to protect the engine from abuse when someone is overly agressive. It retards timing and cuts back on boost if you try to play by spinning tires.

Try flooring it in third gear. It will only downshift into 2nd not 1st. Same in 4th...will only downshift into 3rd not 2nd.
One of my favourite features with the new PCM is being able to floor it at 30 mph and having it downshift into 1st gear.

Don't know what differential scoring is :?

Ahh, that'* abuse? Well does it cut back on timing only if you have a L36?

I now know why my car alway lagged when I gassed out of a corner, it'* the skip shift.

But differential scoring, that needs to be 'xplained Lucy...

Hmmm....differential scoring.....I can only assume that it is a protection mode that cuts back on timing, fuel or boost if one front wheel is spinning when the other is stopped or turning much slower. This is a problem for non LSD. Differentials will be destroyed during one wheel burn outs.

Hmmm.... you may be right, when you said that, it kinda made sense, seeing that most GM cars came with an open diff.

I was rereading INTENSE'* description of the PCM, at the end, it said ",etc..." Well, I want to know what else it'll do, because the ZZperformance'* description pretty much described everything the PCM will do.

All of the PCM'* do pretty much the same thing.

Each one has their own little tweaks however.

Going from my Intense unit to a DHP was an impressive gain.

Everyone has their own experiences and every car is unique.
