Stage 2, i would have to use premium
well now that i think about it its only $3-4 more total a tank...hmm
with my new raceway card i'll get 10% back, which makes up the difference
i look forward to this winter, as far as I know though, no cracks in the EM.

If your EM'* have never been off the car, you have cracks.
My theory is the lack of gaskets from the factory causes the EM'* to stress-crack (very small and hard to find, you must remove them for inspection). The addition of gaskets after repair prevents the problem in three ways:
1. The EM'* have already been stress-relieved and have 'settled in' to their fit.
2. The gaskets allow a minimal amount of flex during heating/cooling cycles.
3. Thermal shock rates are reduced since the EM'* aren't in direct cylinder head contact.

On topic: maybe a ported LIM would help and see about getting some head work done too, make er flow better.

but anyway, yeah LIM porting was suggested and i'll look into it. EM I guess i'll also have a look at when the time comes. I can't wait for some time off school and some money, birthday is on the 14th so I am likely to get some green stuff then

I had a 91 regal GS, same engine as you have...You are going to find performace mods are not very common and everyone that has posted here has just about covered all you will find :( I found that after sending out my LIM,UIM and heads to get ported and matched up to one another all I could do after that is a CAI and try to reduce weight to go faster. try flow matched injectors(stock ones are fine to use), lighter rods if you can find them, electric water pump to free up some hp. As far as what I said to will, my humor is of the ball busting kind and sorry if I came off as being a *****

Just pondering here, since I don't know...how easy is it to port the heads? How hard is it to do and how much of a gain is possible? Is it just wiser to stick with just port matching the LIM instead?
How about EM porting?
Is there anything beneficial that can be done to the UIM?

Maybe the UIM on 1992 models only can be cleaned up a bit. 93-95 L27s not so much. Can't touch those at all in regards to porting.
You CAN, however, work on the LIM at the UIM junction. There is a bit of a lip on each runner that can be seen when you separate the two halves. It isn't much of a disturbance, but it can be knocked out with flap wheels and a dremel.
When I get back home I will post pics of my mani in progress to show you what I mean.

Yes Brad has a manifold in progress.. In the future I will be interested to see what difference this makes in terms of performance... I get the feeling that the engine will develop more torque through the Long torque band..
But I do think the extra added flow will help..

Thanks.
Edit: nevermind. JET has confirmed that they don't offer a chip for my engine since its an OBD 1.5 system.
