only one way to find out. This would be a nice thing to do when going on a trip, you can probably get better mileage if you set it all the way up so you get minimum boost. A lever to adjust it on the fly would be nice...
i just did this mod...
moved it down about 1/4" i think.
the throttle response is there alright!!
best mod i have ever done
TPS is next
--------------------------------------------
now let me tell you whats up
when i first got my car, it ran like sh*t compared to what is now, but i had no idea, i had ever driven a series 1 sc before.
since i have joined the site, i have:
made my car run like a champ
upped my hp to about 250
decreased my 0-60 time by 1.5 secs
made my car look a hell of a lot better
i NEED to get to a track
i want to thank everyone, Jeff Keacher mostly...this site rules
my rice pipe is sittin in the closet, and rx-4750 is in the mail right now...

ok everyone is talking about this boost bypass but i can't seem to open the site and it'* getting to the point were i'm going to tie this comp to the back bumper and show it what running fast is all about!
can anyone shed some light on this subject, like maybe a pic or something. i think i know what to adjust but i want to make sure before doing so.
Remove your engine cover.
Remove the BCS from the BCA on the front of the SC. One 10mm nut (Boost control solonoid.....little thing attached to the boost control actuator on the front bracket, has vacuum lines going to it).
Now loosen the remaining 10mm'* and turn the BCA all the way counter clockwise to 'pre-load' it.
Put it all back, tighten it up. 5 minute job.

ok, done that. moved it all the way up. it was all the way down. think i'm going to keep it this way to conserve gas. considering that the only time it gets driven right now is for out of town trips. i just recently bought a ford ranger w/ a 2.0 4 banger for 150.00 that runs decent and i'm looking at an 83 mustang with a 3.8 v-6 for 50.00. this will make a good doaner drive train for the truck. so all mods on the bonny are on hold until i get this truck done and then i'll resume mods on the bonny. needless to say i'm working 2 jobs right now so time is little to none. but eventually i'll get everything like i want it. but aside of all the blah, blah, blah about the truck i got er' done. thanks for the info and that'* what i thought it was but wanted too be sure before doing anything.
cliff
p.*. i'm painting the truck general lee orange and thinking of putting 0.5 on the doors.lol

well here it is for series 1
ver crude picture, but i didnt feel like running outside again for a different angle
in the yellow, you see the 3 bolts will is talking about. the one in front, and the 2 in back...loosen em all...
then the green, move that all the way to bottom, moving in a counter clockwise direction, you will see what is going on once you do it...

Let me see if I got this.... If I move it down AND turn it to the left, I will have done both the free mods for better boost response?
I printed out and understand the one P-dad gave the link for, but am trying to figure out the turning of it part that wil is talking about. I plan on doing this this weekend, maybe tonight.
Also, has anyone had any problems after doing either of these mods?
I know the depressing of the solinoid is for response, but the bypass does exactly what?
