Hmmm...I might give this a go. What is this "unsafe" previous bypass you are all talking about?

We tried this, this weekend. Part of my issue we thought was I was getting too much boost to quickly so we actually did the opposite of this and rotated the Boost bypass all the way to the left. Boost came on later but it didnt help my launch issue (more on this later). It does seem to make the car more gas friendly as it doesnt get into boost until im more into the throttle.

If you want boost sooner crank it right, if you want it later, crank it left. This doesnt not affect your amount of boost, just when you get it.

In my case, with my current mods, I'm gonna want it sooner. I'll make the adjustment tonight and reply with a report.

Well it appears mine was almost all the way up, so I was able to move it a good half inch downward. Boost is sooner; I can see the ups and downs to this. However this should help with 60 foots and in turn maybe the overall 1/4 mile. Good find PontiacDad.

Why would you NOT want to have boost as soon as possible? Does it cause driveability problems?

Wastes gas because the more air you move the more fuel you dump into it as well. If you want performance of course you want it all the way to the right, however if you baby the car then left would be good.

There is also TM issues to deal with if too much boost is applied to quickly so it depends on your mod level as well.

I tried this a while ago and didn't notice a difference.
Think I'll check it again to see where I ended up setting it. I think I left it down. Maybe that'* why my mileage was worse than PDads.
I've had my solenoid bypassed for a month now with no problems.

I just went out and did this to my bonnie. The bypass valve cap thing, when i pushed it down, went down just about a whole 1/2". So im guessing that it will be a little quicker now.
