hi, so i recently decided to make a cai, when i got to looking i decided to try this, i took out the old filter btw, i figured the old case could block some of the warm air. any ideas on the effectiveness of this?

That will help a bit, but hot air will still get threw. Still looks nice though. If you look under there you may find a large hole that you can drop a filter threw and make it a FWI. That will do the best at blocking the hot air.

Series one has the large hole, but it is filled by the charcoal canister. You would need to relocate that if you wanted to do that.

Moving that is easy. I simply moved mine over a bit and ran my filter threw that hole.

Yes it'* needed. Gas fumes collect there and are stored to be burned later.
