Awesome is not quite the word I would use for the paint job. Flat black would look better if it had been done right. This one looks a little like a faded flat black with mottled splotches.

I was sooooo tempted to go out for a burn tonight....but no plates or insurance held me back. All I could do is rev it up and drive up and down the driveway.

Next week I'll take out a temporary permit and "try" it out.
The roads will have to be dry though. Not that I care about getting it wet but the lack of traction would be dangerous with these wide drag radials....and my right foot.

I just can't get over how good it sounds compared to when I first got it. The headers are hooked up to a pair of 2 1/2" Turbo mufflers and no tail pipes.

I found out why the ventilation fan doesn't work. The fuse was pulled, so I popped in a new one and then the fan squealed like a pig on low speed. Moving the blower speed switch did nothing. So I pulled the fuse out. Who needs it when I've got T-tops.
I will have to get the wipers working. I have the wiper switch but the wire colours don't match the ones behind the dash. The wires behind the dash have been hacked and most are hanging with no connections to anything.
All the dash gauges work. No radio. No power trunk release. No cruise control...but who needs it. No A/C but I don't need that around these parts. Non functioning power door locks. Power windows work fine.
Trial and error time for the wipers. :?

mmmm, now is the fun part, wiring! I hope you have diagrams of some sort, that can be a real pain in the butt.

Yes I have the original Service Manual with wiring diagrams but the complication is the A/C system and all the other deactivated options that are taped off. Looks like at one time someone had installed an immobilizer theft system cause there are other wires that are non stock everywhere and I pulled out the control box from under the carpet.
At least all the wiring that really counts works, like engine, lights and signals.

I've been following this thread since the beginning, and I have to say she looks great. Looks like all your hard work paid off pretty well.

BTW, is there any chance of videos so we can hear her?

I will take a video but since I don't have a video host, I will have to E-mail to those who contact me by PM. Might not be till next weekend though. Looks like rain in the forecast.
That shaker hood scoop really shakes.

Couldn't resist a ride around the block today....twice.
Two neighbours came out and tried to stare me down with scowls on there faces.
The sound was soooo sweet....and I never revved above 2500 rpm.

sounds a lot different than... 165432....165432....165432....and a lot louder.

Went out for a long ride after dinner today.
Just had to do the road test on the highway.

Clicked off a rough 0-60 run in 5.5 sec.
Buried the speedo a couple of times.....it only goes up to 100.mph but it wrapped around pretty good.

Those rear Drag radial tires are so sticky they just wouldn`t spin. Check out this picture and see how everything sticks to them, like slicks, when they are warm.

Man that looks great, you've done a great job on the car

Flat black and sticky slicks add a leather jacket and youd be the Fonz
