Another Whiner (Installed my CAI from Auto-Zone)
Finally installed my el-cheapy Auto-Zone intake. Had to go to Home Depot to get a coupler, and then used the reducer that came with it to make an adapter to get the coupler to fit perfect, but she'* ON!
Mounted the IAT in a hole I drilled through the cap in the center of the inner filter cone( I will have pics tomorrow), which puts it where it doesn't disrupt air flow through the pipe. Had to ghetto-wire extensons on the IAT leads though.
Anyway, it'* on, took a quick run around the block(said block being 8 miles around!), and GOOD GOD, she whines like a ****!
Supercharger is now totally un-muffled(Good-bye, Helmholtz resonators!) and it belts out this EVIL whining noise! I love it! Look out rice!

Gonneville, get some pics up I want to see how you did it, as we used the same pipe and couplers.
ya i just did the same thing as you, and damn do i love it. How did you increase the length of your IAT sensor tho, because i just enlarged the the bigger hole in the pipe and stuck it there. so its still pretty close to the TB. Also...have you built a heatshield yet, buecause thats the stage im currently at, and i was wondering if you had any good ideas. Thanks, Blake
Willwren, is your CAI box touching the radiator hose? Is it safe for that type of material to touch it directly? I wouldnt mind a box but I cant get it to fit unless it touches the hose. Its really cramped with that black box on the right, then the hose on the left. Then angles are kinda goofy also :?

Due to the fact that its almost impossible to get a perfect fit, I think I will get some exhaust wrap and cover up the crossover exhaust pipe nice and good, and maybe get some dryer ducting for ram air (I have some ideas about how to do it to make it indescreet.)
Hmm, if I have the box on top of the hose then that will defeat the purpose for blocking heat, wont it? Right now I got sort of like a tent setup with the insulation stuff. I think I am going to wrap my pipe in it also, see what good that does it.
