Default Another CAI for 00+

Hi all, I just finished my own CAI for ~$35.00. Next job is to remove the front license plate cover and run a ram air duct from there and cover the opening with a meshed grill. Should look sweet when its done.

Yes the filter is in the gap between the wheel well and the bumper cover. A 9" cone is perfect.

The CAI looks good and all, but I have a sort of off topic question for you. Why does it say estimated horsepower is 230 on that page??? Its 240 STOCK. I would think it would be more like 280-290 now.

My guess its 230whp which is fair.

Is the air intake any louder in the fender? Is that area inside the fender clean?

Thats what I was thinking, but everyone else on cardomain puts crank horsepower, so it makes it sound kinda low. If you look at the weight and the 1/4 mile time though, it is quite obvious that it has more than that at the crank. I just thought it was kind of odd. Personally, I would put down crank horsepower (as I did with mine), but its not my cardomain page so I guess there'* not much I can do.

Yes Shawn, it is whp on my page. Come on man, I know you're much more knowledgable than that!! I didn't realize what people actually put on their pages. I just put whp cuz thats all that really counts anyways. Yes, when you first start the car, it sounds terrible. But, after 60 -90 seconds it sounds normal. UNTIL you put your foot down, then it sounds like a really cool supercharged car should sound like!
