Default AFC 2.2

iS anyone using one of these , how easy is it use and is it a good tool for someone who is going to mod lightly using 3.5 or 3.4 pulley ,FWI, 180, autolite 104,possible standard intense pcm, and autotap.

The AFC is a bandaid for someone who isn't running a custom PCM. It is a last resort as far as I'm concerned.

I don't see a reason or a need for you to run one. What do you hope to gain from it?

Actually I have a Powertuner and an AFC 2.0 (very similar to 2.2)

I run both for a couple reasons, but the biggest is the fact that I dont have to re-prog the PCM daily as temps/weather/ect change. I can just scan the car and adjust accordingly keeping me running awesome no matter what the weather is.

Also if I'm on a long road trip I just lower the settings via AFC and save some gas .

On the flip side if the AFC makes your shifts "mushy" due to the fact that its lying to the PCM. I dont have this issue however as my press. sensor is locked

My counterpart at HumPerformance ran one for while and ran about .15 faster, but he has swapped car and will see more from it than the rrst of us. He sold it because of the softer shifting.

I will have to agree, being stock you will see virtually nothing. But if you mount in the cockpit it looks cool-lol, that is the biggest gain you will see.

And even with your future mods plans that you have listed you wont see much(if any) performance gain.

I could get one cheap and was curious if not now , it could be useful later in the mod game,Dont know how useful it is other than adjust fuel /air mix.Im learning and asking for opinion and help.I didnt think it would add HP but I thought it was a tool to achieve HP safely like I said dont plan on going farther than 3.5 ,FWI,PCM MAYBE PLAY WITH 3.4,DEPENDS how good you guys teach me this stuff, LOL. but thanks I think ill leave the AFC.
