Default 92 SSEI (dont know what to do)

Hi, i rencently purchased a 92 bonneville SSEI and alot of people at my school have some pretty fast cars and i want to be able to run with some of them. What kind of mods can i do that wont leave me broke? So far ive seen a Hypertech chip and thermostat, K&N filter but ive been to alot of performance sites and cant find any products like exhaust and such for my ride anyone got any suggestions?

What cars are you looking to beat???

Give us some price range to work with.

You could make your car run 10'*, if you had the money. So give us a range.

Not even Scott Cook can manage 10'* in his Bonneville...

Look for 13'* at best with a reasonable budget and some mechanical skill.

Scott cook doesn't have the most power in a bonneville

Check out my thread in this section called "Intake options (Rice pipe). That'll do you for good breathing, you'll also want to open up your exhaust, mainly a hi flow Cat, possibly a muffler if you want it louder.

After that you can play with pulleys on the supercharger, making it turn faster for more boost. a 180 with a pulley is a must.

Jetchips makes a very nice chip for obd 1 bonnevilles like yours as well. Removes the governor, adds power, etc.

Pffffffffttttttt................

All forged internals, 150 shot, 20 lbs of boost, on a 9:1 comp ratio, great aftermarket intercooler, with some wide a$$ slicks with a 3.71:1 gear reduction, and you could run 10'* without trying.....

All that would come up to about $10000 in custom fab.

Dont say it isnt possible......

Not totally true. My bet is they will hit 10'* with it this year. And if he added N20 it would be a no brainer....the Turbo GP should hit 9'* this year...

I guess I could do that in my car then, all I need is aftermaket intercooler and NOS, my compression is better at 10.5:1 and my gearing is 3.71:1

I beg to differ....Not only does he have the most proven horsepower, his engine also powered the spirit of bonneville to over 173 mph for an extended 7 miles run at the flats. And thats without N2O

There are some people who don't want the attention of having #1

Just cause Scott'* the biggest name, doesn't make him the best.
