i had a 4.3 crank up next to the 3800 crankcase...ummmmm not likely that it'll fit, it would be easier to do a bellhousing adaptor to the 60* pattern and shove a vortec in there
you can however put the symetrical port SII heads on the tall deck SI block, thich they have nice stroker kits for in oz, and unlike the shortdeck SII, you would still have a decent rod/stroke ratio
or keep it stock stroke, use SII pistons in the SI block with modified chrysler 440 7.640 inch c2c rods and have a 1.98 to 1 rod stroke ratio (can you say rev happy?)
i bet that if you wanted you could make the aftermarket alum 3.8 GN heads work on a SI block or hell even a SII block
i know i have strange idea'*...till the men in the white coats come...i will finish my toy *maniacle laugh here*

Just to clarify, although kind of off on a tangent...
Both the 3.8 and the 4.3 are 90 degree V6'* built from V8 engines. They are completely different as they are derived from different engines, however.

There is no commonality to that old V8. That was a long time and many revisions ago. We're not talking the same relationship the 350 and 4.3 have here. This is split by MANY generations.
