You should shop for exhaust systems and cold air intakes for bolt ons and even a computer chip. Otherwise the real power gains arent to noticable on things like spark plugs or ignition upgrades. Listen to wilwren when he told you to change your pulley.

the 2k+ have a pretty freeflowing exhaust from what i've read. yes plugs and t-stats(etc) wont give you noticible gains but they are very necessary supporting mods

Heads are a waste of money for the power level he is looking for IMO. WIth a few big mods (Cam, I/C, headers) along with the supporting mods like plugs, t-stat, PCM, etc... there should be no need for spending close to $2k for heads. I also don't think I'd waste my money on a tranny rebuild just to get gears that are only going to net you a tenth or two (depending on what gears you pick) when that money would go much further on engine mods. Then if the tranny does go later (it will go eventually with that kind of power but you never know how long it will be) you might want to upgrade to shorter gears, but if you plan on driving it as your daily driver the gears will definately hurt your gas mileage, especially on the expressway.

sounds like you've got about the same goals i've got. there'* a chassis dyno about an hour away, and hopefully within the next two weeks i'll be able to get down there, and i can let ya know what the stage 3 kit will put down.

i think heads aren't a waste of money unless you upgrade to the gen v m90, and even then you might want an i/c. if you wanted to stick with the stock m90, www.wbodystore.com has an awesome lookin' intercooler with a 3" (!!!!) core. supposedly they ran a 2.6" pulley with everything else bone stock, no KR. with intake, exhaust, pcm, rockers, that i/c, and even "just" a 2.8" pulley, that should be pretty darn close. that'* what i'm plannin on anyways. just my two cents.
