Default 3" or 2.5"

For my 97 NA. Is it better to use a 3" PVC pipe or a 2.5" metal pipe for the air intake? Keeping in mind I now got a better exhaust setup...

Three inches or bigger they say. Don't use PVC, when it heats up it gives off a chloride (toxic) gas and is an extreme health hazard.

3" is how big the TB is approximatly, so that will give you the best laminar (smooth) airflow.

I have a few questions about cusomizing my own intake. I use 3" pipe (What degree of a bend for the pipe) and where the hole for the sesor is to go. help.

Degree bend, maybe around 60, but try to get it smooth as possible. The sensor location for now can go where it can reach the pipe, but you can always get an IAT extension and put it really close to the filter.
