I think I'll leave a half a quart in the pan to avoid any issues with the oil pump. i'll just make sure nothing shows on the oil dip stick.

also thanks for the advice. You are right I'll make some wood mounts to mate up with the motor mounts and I'll use a tire or something at the bottom.

I also know a little about server racks arriving with some strange/unexpected damage to them. lol, yahoos

I'd leave like two or three quarts. I don't think that will show on the dipstick of a 6.5-quart engine. If it does then drain it until it doesn't show. Too little and all of the motion during the journey could allow it to drain out of the pump anyways.

Yeah, it'* either whoever assembles the shipment or the shipper or both. We finally went to sealed partitions in the trailers. We either verify the seal when it arrives at the destination, or they call us for authorization to break the seal at the destination depot if it needs to be moved to a liftgate trailer for the last mile delivery. It costs extra but solved most of our issues.
