Is this the reason my cylinder is misfiring?
On days when i sit in my driveway or a parking lot and let my car reach 195+ and then shut it off, I'll hear a high pitched whistling also a dripping like water falling (not the sound of the catalytic converter or manifold cooling down)something from cylinder 5, (back right of engine when I'm facing the front of car) and when i take off the cover i see what looks like steam (probably vaporized gas) coming in between the injector and cylinder head (not the actual name just the name escapes me) the valve cover or what the heck it'* called. help meh

Got a photo you can show us where the leak is coming from please.
If it is directly below the injector, and smells like fuel, that'* an injector removal and new o-ring to be installed.

Just look at the arrow and you'll see where. It'* also noticably wet around the area but i didn't reach in and smell it

Next time it does it, you need to stick your nose in their and smell it. Also check your coolant level too. But, I'm suspecting the injector is leaking from somewhere.

Can you watch it while its running?
Get a bottle of spray water and spray around the injector while its running. If the engine changes in idle, then you have a leak somewhere.

If you look at that picture, the injector to the right is not wet, and there is a similar "stain" to the right of that second injector(possibly more than one leak?)....
Mike, I am not sure how spraying water will affect this? That rail is under pressure, not a vacuum........
If you smell gas, it'* kind of a no brainer, that you pull the fuel rail(very easy, just relieve pressure first at schraeder), and replace BOTH O-rings on each injector....have never seen an injector, crack and leak......but nothing surprises me anymore......
One of the things you can try, is wash down the suspect areas with Brake Klean, and then blow dry/clear the area of debris......cycle the key just to on(on for 5 seconds, off for 10) several times, to build up max pressure......now remove the retainers from the fuel rail.......now slowly grab the rail, and move it side to side(don't lift upward), and look for fuel possibly leaking from an O-ring....

When he has the engine running, I wanted to eliminate the o-ring on the injector/LIM
