Oldsmobile 403 and 455 for heavy-duty use . . .
That would be truly fascinating to. Our domestic industries were faced with great challenges. I've always wondered about the 'bean counters' vs engineering battles.
On the other hand, I can see the program looking a lot like "Drunk History" or skits from "Chappelle'* Show".

DISCLAIMER: If any big 3 folks are reading this and offended etc., please be aware that my intent is not to single anyone out, but rather to discuss the source of interesting evolutions that came out of the big 3 back in the day. I'm sure engineering, politics, government edicts, bean-counting, meandering public desires, foreign competition, surprises, etc. etc. got us interesting things, good and bad, like:
- Buick Grand National
- 1982 Firebird
- Longitudinal engine/transmission FWD luxury cars, then one with a tiny trunk (Seville)
- Longitudinal engine/transmission FWD luxury cars with a choice of at least five engines including three gasoline V6'* (one with a turbo), a few gas V8'*, and a diesel V8
- Saturn
- Pontiac 265 V8
- Diesel pickups
- GM 350 diesel
- GM "Metric" transmissions
- V8-6-4
- 1980'* Mustang turbo 4-cylinder
- Those neat-looking square police crown vics
- Aero T-Birds
- Aerostar AWD
- XR4Ti
- Taurus
- All of those huge lurching Towncars and LTD wagons in TV car chases
- Fairmont
- Pinto
- Cummins-powered pickups
- Fury Police
- AMC Lives AGAIN!
- K-car
- At least a bazillion telephone-company vans
- Minivan
- Turbo 4-cylinder minivans
- Omni
- Colt
- Eagle Premier
- etc.
. . . some good, some bad, some in-between, but all interesting.
