1996 supercharged - going to look at it tomorrow...
i have a 97 Olds LSS, 3800 n/a (thing'* a beast. 198k, junkyard tranny, rebuilt front end, i've done a LOT of repairs - however, just age related - totally acceptable.) this is my 3rd olds of this kind, 1992 - 1994 - now this one.
I was browsing, and ran accross a 1996 Olds LSS Supercharged.
my first question will be, what type of fuel have you used in this car - if i don't get the answer i want to hear, i'm on the road again.
aside from that , the car has defects listed (again, age related bullshit, like my 97 - just did it all, fresh in my mind - nothing scary..) no engine/idiot lights, no physical body rott dents or paint defects, it'* in really nice shape....
what should I be looking for? I'm unsure if the car'* registered, but all suspension/steering wheel+tire/etc. flaws I can handle - parts are dirt, and very available -
i've just, never had a supercharged 3800 - specifically, what do i look for? car'* at 135k - listed as needing engine mounts, rear shock, and fluids changed.. mechanic maintained, adult female driven, seems like it'* the one for me...
thanks,
Joe

You will need to use super, lower octane will cause knock and lower power. The super will give you a few extra MPG which offsets the extra cost.
With those miles you will want to change out the LIM gaskets. It'* a easy job and takes a few hours.

okay.
my plan (since i already have a fully functional car) is to simply, build the **** out of this new olds
preventative maintainence, and i'd like to see 350hp through a built tranny and upgraded diff - i have nothing but time, the money comes slowly - but i'll be the happiest bastard ever.

Check the plastic water elbow from the LIM (under the supercharger belt)
And the differential is not at all the week point in the transmission, the TQ solenoid, and 4th gear clutch back are the bad spots.
