Default MAF and ICM questions.

I had to use the wifes 98 Regency (see sig) yesterday and it hesitates for a fraction of a second when driving, like the car turned off and even the exhaust noise goes quiet. I ask my wife how long its been doing that; she says about a month.

So checking all the connections I could I notice the ICM clip is loose. No problem; pull out wrench - uh oh! Problem! The 'nut' end in the ICM is stripped. Any idea'* on a fix or is this a good time for another JY run.

Today she called me and its still doing it and now the SES came on. I had her get the codes read at AZ and got a P0102 (Maf Airflow low voltage) so I'm wondering if an intermeittant MAF could be the cause the hesitation? I'm going to clean the element and check/change the filter in case see 'sucked' something up.
a JY run is looking more probable.
Thanks
Tim

The 'nut' end in the ICM is stripped.
Could you explain that a little further?

Replace the MAF sensor, clear the code and then re-scan it to see if the code re-appears. If it doesn't - mission accomplished.

Whatever the ICM connector screws into is stripped/shot/gone. As I turn the bolt it never 'bites' or threads into anything.

I cleaned the MAF, cleaned the airfilter housing, replaced the airfilter and problem cleared.

Do you mean the little screw that holds on the 14 pin connector being pointed to by #3 in this link?

Sounds as if the threaded insert inside the ICM is spinning freely.
