I have a 1999 olds 88 the interior lights won't go off even after I put the key in and start it.they stay on the whole time i drive and when i park it takes about 10mins before they shut off. doesn't matter if i hit the lock button or not.

Not sure about the olds as I am the Bonneville. In the door though there'* a switch attached to the handle (exterior) that turns on a courtesy light if the door is locked and the handle is lifted. If that switch goes bad, it keeps the lights on until the battery rundown turns all power off.

are the lights On?

you do know your car has a dimmer swtich, for the dashboard guage lights....

if you turn it all the way to bright, then turn it just a little bit more - the lights 'click' on - that'* the interior light on/off switch - so you can turn on the all the interior lights, without opening the door... .

either you didn't know about that on/off swtich, and it'* stuck on -

or one of your door switches is junk..

Know all about the switch,checked all doors everything seems ok thier to, are thier any tests that will confirm this?
